In the 2000’s my parents moved to Philadelphia and lived in a small apartment above a 24-hour diner and restaurant. My mom and dad would often tell me stories about how they would always go shopping in the Liberty Shops or get coffee by Rittenhouse. I learned later on that the diner they lived above was actually one of center city’s last diners and was an iconic part of the city for a long time. I am kind of sad that I never got to see it when it was open, but it still warms my heart when I pass by it.
